Each of the three owners has specific responsibilities with a wide degree of decision-making authority. They are a family group that works well together, fostering an atmosphere of creativity and achievement. Each of the owners has a minimum of 7 years of practical experience, with proven results.
Sylvia Tabor, Majority Shareholder, President and CEO. Sylvia Tabor has served as Chief Executive Officer since she purchased The J. Paul Company, a small crystal awards store in the Galleria Mall, in 1994. Since that time she has served as the principal owner and CEO. Her responsibilities include overseeing the entire operational structure as well as building and maintaining relationships with key customers and suppliers. She has proven her ability to provide vision and leadership to this organization by building an industry top 5% distributorship in less than 8 years.
Mike Tabor, Shareholder, Vice President. Mike Tabor was added to the management team in 1996. He was primarily hired to oversee the manufacturing process of the crystal awards business. Since he began, Mike has expanded The J. Paul Company’s production into embroidery, digitizing, and has doubled the awards manufacturing capabilities. Mike is also responsible for creating and providing leadership in the quality control, art and R&D departments. Mike provides the leadership, organization and scheduling skills that allow The J. Paul Company to provide its clients with unparalleled turnaround times.
Steve Tabor, Shareholder, Vice President. Steve Tabor is the newest addition to the management team, joining The J. Paul Company in 2001. Steve was brought on board to provide leadership in the finance and administrative departments. Prior to joining The J. Paul Company, Steve worked 8 years for Hillenbrand Industries, as an account representative. His responsibilities included providing small businesses with financial analysis, employee training, and business planning. Steve is a 1990 graduate of the University of Missouri.
